Med Sync

One of the key advantages of medication synchronization, also known as Med Sync, is the convenience it offers to patients by aligning their medication refill dates so they are all filled on the same date for you every 30 days*. By aligning refill dates, we hope foster patient engagement in their care and simplifying patients' medication routines. This streamlined approach saves time and effort for individuals managing multiple prescriptions.

Med Sync reduces pharmacy trips, saves time, and prevents unexpected medication shortages, ensuring continuity of care. It improves medication adherence, helping patients stick to treatment regimens and enhancing medication effectiveness. It also aids in reducing missed medications and therefore reduced hospitalizations.

Our Med Sync program benefits us just as much as it does you. Our pharmacists benefit from gaining a comprehensive view of medication usage and interactions, enabling personalized guidance and medication review.

*= Some controlled medications may not be eligible for Med Sync due to our DEA Compliance policies. Please contact the pharmacy for more information and personalized guidance.

Choice Family Pharmacy offers 3 variations of our Med Sync program.

Standard Med Sync

The standard Med Sync program is designed to align your prescription refill dates, ensuring that all your medications can be picked up at the same time. This does not include any unique packaging, as all prescribed medications will be dispensed in standard tinted vials. This coordinated approach helps in reducing the frequency of visits to the pharmacy, making it more convenient for you to manage your medications effectively. This also helps in preventing unexpected expenses or running out of essential medications unexpectedly.

What to Expect:

For new patients, we kindly request additional information including your phone number, address, date of birth, and insurance details. It is essential for us to have the name of your primary care physician (PCP) and the details of your current pharmacy.

Please be advised that the process of syncing medications for new patients may require additional time as we coordinate the transfer of prescriptions from your current pharmacy and contact your PCP for any prescriptions that cannot be transferred.

Our team will contact your providers to obtain a copy of your medication list to ensure that we have accurate information on all your prescriptions. If you have medications that are taken on an as-needed basis, please inform us whether you would like them to be included in your monthly synchronization or if you prefer to request them as needed.

We streamline the refill process by aligning all your medication refill dates through short-filling prescriptions. This method involves dispensing a partial amount of a prescription so that it aligns with a specific refill date. It is important to note that with short-filled medications, you are charged only for the quantity received as determined by your insurance provider. Subsequently, you will be added to our Med Sync calendar for automatic monthly refills.
